First off this is my 2nd time being at this track and considering I have had no training(No instructor) or a lot of practice I thought I did quite well and others were impressed as well. There were a total of around 18 cars IIRC there, and my times were in the top 8.

I had a blast, I just wish I could visit that place more often (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) After watching about 60 minutes of my in car video I can see a lot of areas of improvement (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

So please don't make fun of me, I'm just a rookie (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Also this was my first time on the track with the new Stoptech brake kit. One word AWESOME! No fade or nothing. The pedal was solid from the first lap to the last lap.

Looked good to me as well.

Those stock seats and seat belts suck, though ... don't they? (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

LOL yes they do (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I haven't researched for lap belts or anything but what is a good compromise w/o losing the stock seats? I have the LG Harness bar btw.

Camaro seats seem to give more body support, however, their one piece design doesn't allow for shoulder harnesses very well. The shoulder belts slide down the sides too easy ... or so I've heard folks complain ... In a TA, underneath the head rest is best.

I used a 5pt., cam lock, pull down, style. Many prefer the pull up style and it appeasrs to give the driver more leverage to get the belts tighter. However, I didn't want anything flopping around in my lap, i.e. the tail of the seat belt. Make sure you get an "H" style shoulder harness and put the connector piece right behind the seat, so the belts stay put.

I piggy backed my lap belts onto the stock location and wrapped the shoulder strap around my roll bar.

Let me say this about a harness bar ...

I used one for a couple of years and never had a problem with it. Many told stories of folks being crushed by the roof caving in in a rollover. Strapped in with an H-bar keeps your body upright and nowhere to go, if the car turns over. I scoffed at the notion.

Until once I tried following a M Coupe's line through some twisty stuff, spun the car out and went off track sideways. It would have been so easy to have caught a wheel and the car turned over... too easy.

I bought a 4pt cage after that ...

You can do what you like, but never say you weren't told ....
