Here is my best lap from the Motor State Challenge and my best lape to date at Gman:
http://youtu.be/JoG0FDam8n8 141.7 per my timer (GPS) and 141.96 per the MSC timer (probably more accurate) (IMG:http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o33/StanIROCZ/null_zpscc59aa0e.jpg) 5th fastest lap of the day out of 98 and probably the fastest car under $100k. Because I'm cheap i refuse to spend $1200 on a set of street tires to be legal i ran my scuffed Grand Am Continentals (race tire). Most everyone else was running BFG Rivials (tread 200) but the top cars also had ~200 HP more than I so I call that a fair trade. That 1:41 lap suprised the the heck out of me and really made me realize how much the little stuff in driving matters. I've watched that vid a dozen times now and I can see where there is more time on the table but I also realize that being able to put it all together in one lap is difficult. I've also done very little tuning on this car. I cant even tell you what my front Koni's are set to. I've never tested tire pressures I just run 39-40 psi like Dean Martin told me to. Im also still right foot braking with a dog box, Id guss that there is a second on the table for LFB. But nipping away at these details and consistently going faster sure is a heck of a lot of fun (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) My best time a year ago was 5 seconds slower (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) |
