I've been going really slow and taking my time, doing things right and fixing things that are more convenient now that the motor is out.
I'd like a little feedback, though ... I have removed my radio and am installing a 3 guage cluster in it's place: Oil Pressure, Oil temp and water temp. All electornic. I have connected the guage ground and the light ground to the aluminum bar that holds the guage in place and jumpered all 3 bars together. I will run an engine ground through the firewall and terminate it to an engine ground, thus giving a common ground for everything. I also installed jumpers to all the necessary 12V points ... the lights and guage power. I have a 3A fuse in line. I will get this power from the fuse panel. Finally, I will run all the individual sender wires to the proper points. I will install a molex connector so that it all plugs in for easy removal. Sound like I'm on the right track? |

That sounds like it should work. Just make sure to use a suitably sized connector and wire tie it together so it can't seperate. Also, I'd "loop" the wire near the connector and wire tie it together where it crosses over. This will take the strain off the connector and help to avoid failure later on (avionics technician, remember?).
