(IMG:http://s3.amazonaws.com/s3.racingjunk.com/ui/5/33/34407335-396-1995-Firebird-CMC-car.jpg) Says he is running a Wilwood SL6 Caliper and a C5 rotor under that 17 inch wheel. I want to know how he did it. I contacted the last owner, he bought the car the way it is. This post has been edited by FASTFATBOY: Jul 12 2014, 12:16 AM |

C5 rotors used to crack all the time on track talking to the guys that ran them. I run C6 rotors with a FSL4i caliper, which takes the same pad as the SL6 if I remember right. I use C5 Z06 fronts though, not sure how they compare to the TA 5-spokes.

FSL Caliper is lug mount SL6 Radial mount I don't think a 14 inch rotor will fit under a 17 inch wheel. I have the 13.06 rotor under a ZR1 wheel with the SL6 caliper, can't go much bigger. |

C5 rotors would crack within 1-2 days, C6 rotors will last 5-7 weekends. (Images from RockAuto) C5 (IMG:http://www.rockauto.com/info/Pronto/BR55045_F_05_12_08.jpg) C6 (IMG:http://www.rockauto.com/info/Pronto/BR55101_F_04_10_08.jpg) As far as 14" brakes under a 17" wheel, it can be done, but not likely with a SL6 (or any Wilwood with a bridge bolt) or an OEM wheel. Also, on the original picture, the car may have SL6s, but they aren't legal on a CMC car. Rules say has to be a 4-piston caliper on the front. |
