I just saw some information on the 2016 Holley LS Fest. It looks like fun (assuming I can get those days off work). Has anybody attended before? I notice the rules don't say anything about convertibles for autocross, track or drag (or anything else). I don't think I'd want to track a convertible without at least a basic 4 point bar in it, but I wondered about the autocross (and maybe making a drag pass or two....just because).

I attended the inaugural event in 2010, but I haven't been back since. I drove from Orlando to Bowling Green with 4x 315 V710's inside the car; I stopped by Sean Garret's home for him to help me with the UETA preload on the way to the hotel. Haven't seem him around in quite awhile, any idea where he went? I drove it back on a trailer due to a stuck relief valve in the oil pump.
I understand that the events and classing have expanded since then but I haven't looked at it in detail. I only participated in the autocross, speed stop challenge, and the country tour (whatever they call it). The tour would have been scenic if it wasn't raining. The autocross was on a small lot that was on a slight hill. The speed stop challenge was held on the strip... drag launch, go as fast as you can before a cone, then you have a set distance to come to a complete stop; quickest time won. I think I read the SS Challenge now includes a U-turn in between the start and stop cones. |
