Someone linked to an underdrive power steering pulley on ls1tech and made me wonder.....

I know our power steering pumps are not long for the world in extreme uses, so is there an issue in using an underdrive pulley on both the crank and ps unit?

You might get heavier steering effort. I linked a standard, billet, pulley in that same thread (made by turn one). I'd use the turn one pulley and their pump. It won't cost much more than the UD pulley they listed (as I remember).
