I am looking to buy 4 3rd Gen 16x8 rear wheels (16mm offset). I would like to fit some tires to them and see if I can stuff them under the wheel wells of my 4th gen Firebird. I would prefer the T/A honeycomb wheels, but I will wait and see what kind of choices that I get.
Thanks. |

I think you're thinking about the offset the wrong way (or maybe I'm mis-understanding).
The 16mm wheels, the rears, are +16mm, which means they are 16mm to the inside (the stock 4th gen wheels are +55, and look how much backspace they have). I just looked at my set of GTA wheels, the fronts at 0 offset have 4" front and back. The rear with a 16mm offset have 4.64" of backspace and 3.36" of "frontspacing". In other words the rear wheels tuck in further than the fronts do. I gathered from you other post you wanted the wheels that moved the track out the most. Those are the front wheels. If the rears were -16mm, they'd be the ones to use, but they aren't negative offset which is what you'd need to accomplish this. This is why front GTA wheels are so hard to find. All the A-Sedan guys want them for all 4 wheels. |
