I am looking to buy 4 3rd Gen 16x8 rear wheels (16mm offset). I would like to fit some tires to them and see if I can stuff them under the wheel wells of my 4th gen Firebird. I would prefer the T/A honeycomb wheels, but I will wait and see what kind of choices that I get.

Sam, Your analysis is correct. However, I think he wants the +16mm offset to minimize the risk of rubbing the outer fender lip/well. They won't have any issues inside seeing as the stockers are +56mm but they will be wider to the outside by 40mm than stock, but not as wide as the 0mm offset fronts. Again, minimizing risk of rubbing, increasing track width, and also finding a slightly cheaper set of 'unwanted' rear pairs knowing the fronts are more desirable.
