Why are the crate motor prices for the LT1 and the LS1 almost identical? I don't get it.

At this point I am simply evaluating options, their relative merits and their relative costs. Since I will be running CMC, I new GM crate LT1 would be the best choice. It has been my observation that rebuilt motors die more often than factory new and (while there are examples to the contrary) the GM sourced, new motors seem to routinely live well beyond 100,000 miles while being pounded... So I am evaluating new engines, complete rebuilt engines, used engines and rebuilding my engine. One I fully grasp each choice and it's cost, I will make a decision on which way to go.
