I was curious if anyone knows anything about how the new GTO is handling on a track or autocross?
Does it need big brakes and worse yet does it push as bad as a FBody? Wondering how it sizes up to an Fbody, esp since it will come out with an LS2 later on. |

I've seen the car 3 times in a Drift enviroment on the tube. Guess its a good Drift car
Anyway latest Grassroots has a articale on the GTO drifting (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) . I guess Bob Bonderant has a drift school now and the LS1 GTO is the car they use. I always liked the Holden supercars those thrings Rock the GTO could be one w/ what 40K . I'll be keeping my eye on the GTO I may want one w/ more style if later years provide and not as a racer either (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) . QUOTE Scott R. of Grassrooot motorsport magazine says " For a 3700lb. car the GTO is nimble at the track, encouraging the driver to steer with the throttle almost as much as the wheel. The GTO would shine as a combination daily driver track car.
It is very forgiving at the limit, pulls hard in every gear, and corners w/o much roll despite it's mass;the ride is firm but not punishing in anyway. For almost an hour (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) straight we pushed the GTO on track, and it never flinched. |
