Today was a great Detroit day. Last night on the news they said we would likely get more than 8" of snow today, so I was prepared to be really depressed today. However, I drove to work this morning without incident, went out a couple of times during the day and had a little fun sliding around. Got to see a semi-truck driver next door at work trying for over an hour to get out of the parking lot, left work right at 5 PM while other wussies stayed in the office to "let things die down a little", out drag-raced many a 4WD vehicle in my '95 Monte Carlo (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) from stop lights, made it home in only about 10 minutes longer than normal, cleared off the snow from 3 cars, snow blew the driveway with my ultra-cool snowblower, salted the driveway, put the cars back in the driveway, watched the snow plow throw a big pile back in my driveway, went back out and shovelled this up, and was all done by 8 PM while other neighbors were still outside working and some of my friends were probably still at work watching the snow fall.
On 2nd thought I have no idea why I'm in such a good mood. This never happened in Memphis. I think I just love power tools and between having such an easy drive home and throwing the snow many feet through the air (got a little bit of Tim Allen going here) I just kept on being amazed nothing went wrong. I think I've been here too long. I knew exactly what to do when I got home and knew how to dress so I didn't get cold at all when outside. Meanwhile, if I was in Texas right now I bet I would have pulled off my headers last weekend and done even more this week. |

QUOTE (94bird @ Jan 17 2004, 10:26 PM) Or, you could come to Mid Ohio with NASA the same weekend and drive on a much better track not much further west from BeaveRun. I would love to come, but as being a Newbie to RR I need to get signed off by the One Lap of America staff saying that I can/know how to drive a race car. Its going to be a OLOA sponsored driving school I have to attend! Better yet why not sign up for the OLOA 04 and put a few road and just a couple track miles (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) on the car in a week.
