Just a heads up for anyone looking for HPDE events at Watkins Glen, Summit Point or Mosport. Trackmasters has posted their schedule for 2005. They are a very safety minded and focused HPDE and Open Track organization. Lots of good instruction for students and open trackers alike. OT drivers get up to 5hrs. track time per day. I've run with them since 1999- recommend them to anyone who is serious about getting the most out of a track event. I'm not financially connected to them (unless you count what I pay out) and I do not instruct for them. Just think they've got a great program and very skilled people. There is a HPDE and race at Barber Feb. 19 and 20. This is put on by a BMW/Porsche group from Florida. They do an okay job but I've only been with them once and it rained. Ride long instructors. http://www.pbocflorida.com/
I belong to this group and they did a great job. Professional classroom instruction by a driver for Toyo tires and organized track time. Instructors ride along. This is only HPDE, no race. I've done this event twice and have been pleased. There is one event on May 28 and 29 and another in the fall. It is not on their website: http://www.albmwcca.org/ Barber calender: http://barbermotorsports.com/events.html This is a group from Atlanta that goes to Talladega Gran Prix Racetrack (not the superspeeedway). It is relatively short track. no elevation changes and not much to hit. It is alot of fun and a bunch of track time. You get some classroom instruction and a ride along instructor. They open up the track in the afternoon so you can go when you want. http://bavarianimports.net/ |
