Looking for a used or otherwise less-pricey SS hood to fit a a 1998 or later Camaro. I need this ASAP, as my car goes to the painter this week, barring the absence of a hood.

The closer to Southeast Texas, the better.

Oh, and what does anyone know about the quality of the RKSport Carbon Fiber hood for the SS. I certainly don't intend to leave it bare, but how much fitting and cleaning up would it take to use this over a OE hood (and save a few hundred in the process). I was also wondering if it is any lighter than GM's standard issue.

Tony

Gimme a break, I've been busy!

Do you have any idea how much is involved in making one good Camaro out of two wrecked ones by yourself in primitive surroundings without even an air compressor?

FWIW, the hood I thought I had purchased suddenly forgot my phone number. ( I won't mention any names, but his initials are Icon Motorsports.)

The car came home with me tonight, riding on "questionable" registration and inspection stickers removed from one of the donor hulks. The 30 mile shakedown run brought a clear reminder why I preferred the SS to the TA befor the wreck back in May. The car is just so much... smoother? Even with 650/175s vs Prokits and rod ends vs poly, the car exudes the refinement of a Mercedes in comparison.

It must be those GW SFCs!
