Well I bought a C5 vette. :drive: What do you guys think I should do with my 1999 1LE?

I've got 2 choices: De-mod it to stock, or leave it as it sits.

What do you think a stock 1999 Silver 1LE would be worth? The body has 53K miles and the engine would have whatever mileage longblock/shortblock I would install (around 50K miles or less). The body has some slight damage from my excursion into the tirewall at Indy last June. Scratches/scuffs and the driver fender, headlight are damaged slightly. If I fix that stuff and repaint as needed is the car worth about $10K? Would have 4 pt bar, 32mm addco, K&N, and Magnaflow catback so F-stock legal again.

Or as the car sits: 383 Lunati stroker with 13K miles, Joe Prince ported heads, 224/224/112 Lunati cam. I would estimate it puts out about 425RWHP or so. Hasn't been on the Dyno since new (400 RWHP before the FLP headers). FLP headers, Magnaflow catback. Lid, ported MAF, ported TB, LS6 intake (with EGR), 30lb injectors, HP Tuners. New Koni doubles, GW upper and lower front arms, GW Panhard. Stock springs and rear arms. Be-cool radiator, ProSpeed brakes, Recaro SRD driver seat. Is it worth $17K like this?

Any opinions?

Thanks,

George E.

Keep the f-body. You'll regret it if you get rid of it. I've had Vettes (C4 and Z06), f-bodies, and Porsches, and the f-bodies are one of my favorites. Plus a properly setup f-body will outrun even a C5 around a roadcourse (my LT4 Hawk stock ran faster than stock C5s at our local track). With your car as built as it is, you are going to take a bath on it if you sell. Do whatever you have too, but convince your wife to let you keep it.

If you absolutely must sell it, I'd probably go for leaving it as it sits and being patient and trying to find someone who wants a fully modded car. It'll probably take a while to find a buyer (probably at least several months), but if you find the right buyer they'll be willing to pay for it.
