In the new Popular Hot Rodding magazine, they have a blurb on Autovelocity carbon fiber wheels. They have magnesium centers, and their 18" x 10.5" wheel only weighs 8 lbs, and is twice as strong as a Z06 wheel! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
That'd be nice for our cars, another 48 lbs of rotating mass in addition to the static mass savings! Too bad they are $1,500 a piece! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) |

QUOTE (CrashTestDummy @ Feb 22 2005, 11:31 AM) Vaporware with a Flash front-end. Just what I like to see, a website with spinny-flashy things all about and a small, dark picture of their product. Must be a _great_ product! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) I agree. I am sure a lot of sales are lost due to flash home pages. I am not a fan of MacroMedia btw. A couple of years ago, I found a place which sold CF rim, mag center for motorcycles. They looked very cool and were very light. If CF wheels were the same cost as GM factory wheels, would you buy and install them? I would be hesitant to do so. |
