tell me about it. cost of living, crime, weather, how nice is it. essentially id just like to know what id be getting myself into if i was to just up and move out there one day and try to find a job and what not. thanks

Vancouver is pretty nice. I live just across the river, on the Oregon side.
Living in vancouver has its advantages, since Oregon has no sales tax, you can shop in OR, and dodge the tax. ;-) The Job market is not the greatest (as mentioned above) but is slowly starting to pick up a little. Cost of living isn't bad, but its not cheap either, although significantly less than Cali, or the Seattle area. Growing up in the NW, I would say the weather is nice, but will likely be a system shock to someone from Atlanta. Most of the winter, we hover around 40* with our fair share of rain. The Columbia Gorge region, is possible one of the most beautiful places on the planet though. You will be in breathless the first time you see the waterfalls, and whole Colulmbia Gorge. |
