I need to pull a couple of hp out of my car and am going to test replacing my 1LE intake elbow with the stock one.
I would like one with a functioning IAT. THanks. |

IAT - Intake Air Temperature. At the "apex" of the elbow, as it sits in the engine bay, there is a sensor with a connector attached to it. You have to pull this connector to get the elbow out.
You can just see it sticking out of the left of the elbow in this picture of the 1LE elbow (this picture is actually up-side down). http://www.slponline.com/view_product.asp?P=25147 Anyway, this sensor is the IAT. The ECM uses this to decide if it can advance timing based on the intake air temperature. SLP sells a "dummy" sensor that you can plug in there to fool the ECM to advance the timing pretty cheaply. I sold mine when I decided to go to CMC since this is an illegal part. |
