I had struck a deal with a local Texaco Express Lube for sponsorship.
I would get a full load of fuel for the race car, my fuel jugs and my tow rig before an event. Also, the tow rig got it's oil changed. In exchange, the business logo was placed on the hood of the car and the car would be made available for 6 Saturdays a year to display in front of his place of business. We were both excited about the venture ... Texaco Corporate stepped and has seemingly nixed it all ... at least that is 2nd hand info I'm getting from one of the managers at the place. I need to stop by and talk with the owner to get the straight story, though. He had hinted about something like this, but basically said screw'em ... I guess it was a double ended dildo ... I am a little disappointed as that would be a huge help to my racing budget ... /vent |

I think it's a corporate brand kind of thing ...
Texaco Express Lube might even have an exclusivity clause with that NASCAR team ... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/dunno.gif) I have a couple other ideas ... maybe it will come together after-all .... |
