Scaring slow F body drivers with a VW diesel ![]() ![]() Group: Member Posts: 449 Joined: 23-June 04 From: Mt Gilead, Ohio Member No.: 376 ![]() |
I have just purchased a car in Miami, Florida and need to trailer it back to Central Ohio. I am leaving to pick it up on the 19th of this month and will return on the 23rd. I will be towing with a 99 Chevy Tahoe with a Class 3 hitch with a flat 4 pin wiring connector. A tow dolly would work too.
I do have an offer from someone for a trailer but the wiring is not compatible (7pin). Obviously I am not willing to cut up the wiring just to make it work for me. I do know there are magnetic and suction type lights availabe that can also be used. A set of those would be welcome too. I know I can just rent something from U-Haul but my budget is limited and will come from funds that I would rather use to buy a few things for the new car. Any offers for help would be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance Neil |

You will want one of the pieces shown on this page:
http://www.hitches4less.com/adapters.html Probably this one: http://www.hitches4less.com/6wayroto4fla.html These are easy-to-find and I know that our local Pep Boys, NAPA and Advance Auto Parts all have these sorts of parts. They are not expensive. When I went to Richmond, VA to buy my current race car, I took a rented tow dolly. It turned out to be useless because the car was too low to get onto the dolly. My dad ended up driving the two vehicle back to Pittsburgh and I drove the race car - it had dodgy license plates and NO HEAT (temperature outside was in the 30's). |
