Ok, Corbeau is out. I've tried them, and the sliders would probably only fit for someone 5'5"-5'6" or taller. Anybody with Momo, Sparco, or other seats installed in an f-body that can give some feedback on this? Even if you could just move the seat all the way forward and take some measurements (to front of seat, and to front of seat back from a common point). These stock seats just aren't doing the job for open track events, and we have to have something that the wife and I can both fit in (I'm 5'9", she's 5'0"-5'1").

Just an update in case anyone is interested. I found a pair of Recaro Orthoped seats on Ebay, that were custom done in grey leather for SLP for a Camaro SS (and therefore match the Hawk's interior).
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...item=7975906911 Got a really good deal on them ($550 for the pair, new they'd probably go for over $5000 for the pair in custom color leather (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) ), and got them in the car Wednesday evening. They definitely have WAY more side bolstering than the stock seats, and actually fit my wife for driving the car. They have to be all the way forward, so anyone shorter than 5' probably can't use them in their stock setup, but there is room on the brackets that you could redrill the holes and probably get them another inch or two forward. The brackets are also height adjustable, which is a big help since my wife needs the seat higher than what I like. You have to remove two bolts (we only raised the back) to adjust, but it wouldn't take more than a few minutes to change it at the track (I can live with her setting for street driving). Also, you DEFINITELY get what you pay for. These seats are WAY better quality than any other aftermarket seat I've ever seen, and are also better than most OE seats as well. Anyway, if I'd been buying something new I probably wouldn't have chosen this model as the seat bases are fairly flat (for easy entry/exit), but for the price I couldn't pass them up. So for those of you looking for seats that will fit someone down to 5' tall (or even a little shorter with work), Recaros should definitely do the trick. |
