Looks like Top Gear is finally comming to American television! Agreed DiscoveryChannel is airing older episodes but if you have the means I highly recommend it.
Discovery Channel Top Gear Schedule in July. For the uninitiated.... Top Gear on BBC2 is truly a car guy show with a brittish spin. Includes test drives, quirky and inventive reviews and comparisons and the always funny star in a reasonably priced car segment. Tonight's episode includes a challenge to see if an Apache Helicopter can get missile lock on a Lotus Exige. Downloaded episoded off the internet FinalGear.com are decent (thanks TB (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif) ) but TV DVD versions would be worth the effort. |

They generally hate American cars with the exception of the Ford GT. Their complaints are usually the same stuff you hear about in our own car magazines though. Crappy interiors, cushy suspensions, etc.
That said I love the show and look foward to downloading the new episodes every week. Once you get used to watching it you realize just how bad American car shows are. Too bad the Discovery channel version is edited and chopped up. |
