Page 20/21.
It's more of a "this is our idea" from the R/T staff, but if that's their idea, count me out. I would prefer a retro-esque 70-73 RS nose and tail, a legitimate cowl induction, and decent (Ok, much better) ergonomics. |

I'm pretty sure the GTO will die in 2006, as its follow-on 2007 model was supposed to be based on the Zeta platform, similar to the Camaro. I don't think current sales will support keeping it going, unless GM has a brain fart and decides to do what enthusiasts want vice bean-counters.
IF (a big word here, given GM's current fiscal situation) GM were to bring back the Camaro I would hope that the retro styling would be limited to strong hints, not an outright updating of a 40 year-old design as was done with the Mustang. But, go figure, the Mustang is selling like hotcakes, and GM's styling department cannot find the light switch to see what they have done in the last 2-3 years. |
