My LT1's previous owner said he had set the redline to 6400 rpm. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/burnout.gif)

Being a cautious driver, I had never intentionally exceeded the stock redline. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Being an autocrosser, I have unintentionally bounced off the rev limiter a few times. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/burnout.gif)

I guess I'm getting daring in my old age, so I tested to see if it would rev past 5700 rpm. It went right to 6200 rpm, then I backed off. :drive:

So the bad news is I'm mad at myself for trusting the guy would put the rev limit back downlike he had said he would. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rant.gif) He did put the cat and stock springs back on. I'm happy the car has survived several excursions past 6200 rpm.
