But I'm just too darn honest. Dropped off my wife's Bravada at the Chevy dealer Sunday night. So after leaving the key in the drop box, I poke around the lot, 11pm-ish. Since I like to see new things without the hassle of salesmen, I've been known to lift a few handles just in case one's unlocked so I can poke around inside and see what I think.
Tonight's prize, a $39,000 silverado. But what makes this so special? The key was in the ignition. Well good thing this is a fairly sleepy town and I'm an honest guy. Okay, so I did fire it up just to see if it was for real, and because I couldn't believe it, but yeesh. So then I'm thinking, do I put the key in the drop box so no one actually does something bad to it, or do I leave it there so hopefully the person who left the key in doesn't get in trouble? Well, I was hoping to keep someone out of trouble, so I left the key there. So now that I'm home, I'm thinking maybe I should have locked it. THe second key is probably inside, isn't it? Hmm, oh well. |

QUOTE (CMC#5 @ Oct 17 2005, 15:56) You did the right thing obviously in not taking it (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I would've put the keys in the drop box though...I would've been worried that somehow the thing would go missing and someone would accuse me! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif) I saw a snippet on the news the other day about someone stealing a small jet in a similar way... You know when you have a flight that gets delayed it's only because the captain lost the keys. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) |
