QUOTE (z28barnett @ Dec 28 2005, 14:34) Are kidding? FWD is great in snow. If you drive a a Camaro you must know that RWD sucks in snow. Ice racers have different class for RWD, or the FWD cars walk all over them and they are running spikes. Tires still make a difference and driving is crtical, But for snow AWD or FWD are the right stuff. Z28 FWD is great in the snow for the average person. I prefer a RWD car in the snow as long as it has tires with decent tread in the back. I still say that my '91 TA was my favorite car to drive in the winter, but that may be because I grew up as the son and nephew of Dirt stock car drivers so I don't mind being sideways. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I've got a '96 Beretta now and it just wants to push in heavy snow (even with new All-seasons). You have to be more liberal on the loud pedal to get the front tires digging otherwise it won't change direction. I still have fun with it, but it's definitely a different driving style. I can't help with the snow chains, just wanted to put my $.02 in. This post has been edited by nape: Dec 28 2005, 08:06 PM |
