QUOTE (JKnight @ Jan 17 2006, 14:07) I would think that the Camaro would walk away from the M coupe. So I looked up the power and weight of the M coupe and Camaro SS from the last year they were built. M Coupe: Weight: 3141 pounds Power: 315 hp Weight to power ratio: 9.97:1 Camaro SS: Weight: 3306 pounds Power: 325 hp Weight to power ratio: 10.17:1 Pretty evenly matched. Of course you can get gobs of power out of an LS1 with little money or effort. You can spend gobs of money on an S54 getting a little more power. By the way, that might be a Z3 coupe in that video. I spent a minute watching trying to determine if it was an M or not, then got terribly bored. Jason The spec list is nice but the similarities between mine and a standard SS stop at the name plate. Mine is now at 3100lbs and the old motor was pushing 550hp. It would be like squashing a butterfly with a sledgehammer. Thats why I let my neighbor live his little fantasy. New motor will be closer to 650. The coupe is a nice car though. I wouldnt mind having one. |
