With the stock oil cooler? I would guess this cooler doesn't do to much, but I really have no idea, since I have no temp gauge?
With my new heads and cam I am pretty sure I need a big cooler. What are you guys running, and does anyone have enough info where I can order the parts and rig it up? In my z06 on track, I am seeing about 300 deg after about 15 minutes of hard running, I would think the lt1 is really getting up there as well. |

QUOTE (y5e06 @ Feb 9 2006, 22:09) QUOTE (KeithO @ Feb 9 2006, 21:13) +300 degrees with an LT1 and a 6-pass oil cooler. Not good. 220-230deg last weekend (cool weather). Use a big 34 row Mocal and pieced it together myself. Still seing 300deg, Keith? yikes! Yes I am still seeing these temperatures. Note that the sensor is in the pan and I confirmed it on a number of occasions with a pyrometer. I am thinking of seeing if the cooler is having some sort of restricted flow at some point. |
