 Need help diagnosing a squeel |

Ok, first I thought it was the belt. Changed that and it didn't make any difference. After that I changed the belt tensioner, and then the alternator. Finally I thought I had it figured out as the PS pump as it was starting to whine when turning the wheel. Installed my new Turn One PS pump today and put on a new belt, and while it doesn't whine anymore when turning the wheel, it still squeels on startup (but then stops squeeling after just a minute or two of the car running, while it used to squeel for a longer period, 3-5 minutes). Any ideas or suggestions?

I know, old joke, but couldn't resist it. Seriously, I think it could be your smog pump. Very typical of a squeal that goes away a while after start up. This post has been edited by Cal: Feb 26 2006, 07:18 AM |
