OK, i have search and found some good info but need more clear pictures of where the hood pins should be mounted. This is a fiberglass pin on hood.
I have figured out that I will need to mount 2 of the pins on the radiator support area, should those be closer to the center or where the stock hood 'snubbers' were? (which is not the rad support...) And pix of how you mounted the pins for the rear section of the hood. I have seen an 'L' bracket made but would like more detail pix. Granted, this is not for a RR car, drag car, but you guys have to pin these hoods so know you have ideas. Thanks, SH |

I have four on the radiator support. The outer ones are easy. The inner ones I had to grind out a little bit of the underside of the radiator support to get the nut on down there.
For the ones closest to the windshield I used some aluminum L stock and attached it to the mounts for the hood struts. Alan Blaine has his on the strut tower, which would work equally as well. Alan also has additional pins on a strut tower brace, but we ain't got one of them. We're content with 6 pins. There's a thread around here somewhere with some info. Here's a couple: http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/index.php?sho...ic=6694&hl=hood http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/index.php?sho...ic=6587&hl=hood I thought there was another one, but I didn't find it quickly. You can roughly see where ours are mounted in this photo: http://www.z28racergirl.com/gallery2/main....&g2_itemId=1631 The larger version should give you a better idea. And this is just how we did it. There are other solutions. Jason |
