I wanted to say thank you to Eugenio and his wonderful wife for allowing us to come up and visit the igloo for a few days. My wife and I just returned to the states from the "Great White North" and a Canadian mini vacation that was entirely too short (though Eugenio's wife may not think so (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ).
After Eugenio came to Ohio last year for his 36 hour US vacation and express Porsche brake install, I promised him that I'd come up one day. And I was almost right, I came up two days. We saw lots of neat stuff in Montreal and I realized that my awful French is actually far worse than that (I knew I should have gone to class). Eugenio and Mrs. Eugenio (name withheld to protect the innocent) ignored the fact that we couldn't speak the language and kept us out of trouble (protecting us from ourselves mostly). I also learned that Eugenio lied to us, he really does live in an igloo and drive a dog sled to work...... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/bs.gif) Also, his car isn't fast..... It's really, really fast!!!! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/burnout.gif) Thanks for the test drive (now I have to spend money (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/banghead.gif) ). And I'm sure that Eugenio will now think of me every time he drives by "Mon-shure" Muffler. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) We had a great time and appreciated everything and all of your hospitality. You're both welcome in Ohio anytime!!! |

it was great... too bad it was short.
so what do you prefer, the sled with exhaust or open-exhaust ? I still have some beer left... you were supposed to drink it all ... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/drink.gif) (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rotf.gif) i'm back in town again too, since i did 1400kms yesterday and today. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) Looking fwd to meeting you again... I'll drop by sometime soon.... you're only ~12hr-drive away. hmmm... thought you were gonna change the avatar. :rotfl: Kevin not only finds the city pwetty, but the ladies as well... especially the red ones, although i think he enjoyed a blond once in the laurentians... :rotfl: witness protection program victim said she had a good time and was fun meeting you. she's a bit shy by nature... but loved it... and she was happy for me too. She figured we would talk about cars and she ain't into cars like we are... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/nutkick.gif) but understands the passion (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) you forgot to mention about being able to drive my sled and not go rallying with it... i'm happy for that... although we scared the $h!t out of the deer. you forgot to mention about the saLLLLmon, and the black bear running after us. my igloo started melting due to temperatures being 92'F today... so we had good time while it was fresh, ie, in the 80s. Also, you have to explain what a poutine and smoke meat is, now. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) next time, come for a week or so. |

Mostly in order, but not quite: You can say Salllllllmon as long as I can say mon-shure.....and "arrett", say it like it has two T's (who needs silent letters anyway???). (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) Either exhaust is fine with me.... I didn't want to get completely hammered in Canada. And, I figured I'd offend your wife. So, I only had a few beers (and they were good). I need to take a picture and get it cropped so I can change avatars. It will be soon. The city of Montreal is beautiful and there are a few pretty girls there too. It's good to hear that your wife didn't find us repulsive. There's still hope for me. I did drive the rocketship and oddly, Eugenio seemed to just be happy that I didn't take it offroading (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) . I don't know what that was all about....... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) The best part was when we got to the border..... We were watching cars get randomly searched, etc. They were asking everyone for their lifes history and papers, etc. So, I pull up, the guy asks where we've been. "Montreal" I say. He asked "How do you know someone in Canada?". I said "I own an internet message board for Camaros and Firebirds". He says "Do you own a Firebird?". I said "No, I have a 2002 Z28". He says "Really? I'm restoring a 1980 Camaro right now, but someone put shag carpet on the dash and it needs tons of work, but it's coming along". I said "Second gen, neat cars". And his reply? "Welcome back to the US". With that, he waved me through the border. And, I found a great shirt, but didn't buy it. It said: "What's the definition of a Canadian?" "An unarmed American with health care". I really should have bought that shirt. That was my one big mistake of the whole trip. And Danielle is still dealing with that bite on her arm where she was attacked by a fly. It's pretty irritated and so is she..... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rant.gif) |
