I wanted to say thank you to Eugenio and his wonderful wife for allowing us to come up and visit the igloo for a few days. My wife and I just returned to the states from the "Great White North" and a Canadian mini vacation that was entirely too short (though Eugenio's wife may not think so (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ).

After Eugenio came to Ohio last year for his 36 hour US vacation and express Porsche brake install, I promised him that I'd come up one day. And I was almost right, I came up two days. We saw lots of neat stuff in Montreal and I realized that my awful French is actually far worse than that (I knew I should have gone to class). Eugenio and Mrs. Eugenio (name withheld to protect the innocent) ignored the fact that we couldn't speak the language and kept us out of trouble (protecting us from ourselves mostly).

I also learned that Eugenio lied to us, he really does live in an igloo and drive a dog sled to work...... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/bs.gif)

Also, his car isn't fast.....

It's really, really fast!!!! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/burnout.gif)

Thanks for the test drive (now I have to spend money (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/banghead.gif) ).

And I'm sure that Eugenio will now think of me every time he drives by "Mon-shure" Muffler. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

We had a great time and appreciated everything and all of your hospitality. You're both welcome in Ohio anytime!!!

black flies in the laurentians are pretty nasty, they byte and litterally rip parts of flesh... consider it as flying piranhas.
did you at least tell him about www.frrax.com, like give him a sticker ? hope so... if not, shame on you.
that t-shirt would've been perfect.
Tell me where you saw it.

mistake #1: think you are offensive, and did not drink more beer.
mistake #2: let your wife be bitten alive by flesh-eating flies
mistake #3: not get the perfect shirt
mistake #4: scared of revving my sled over 3500rpm, where it really gets awake.
mistake #5: didn't stay long enough to enjoy more scenery, city, nice looking girls (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/nutkick.gif) (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/burnout.gif)
mistake #6: should've driven an f-body through the border, would've made a canamerican friend.

hmmm... I'll think of more. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/nutkick.gif) (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rotf.gif)

Loved it and waas fun, although short.
Here's a little souvenir fo you all southern folks: http://www.coolcanuckaward.ca/joe_canadian.htm

I was out of stickers and forgot to give him the web address...... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/banghead.gif)

1: I'm plenty offensive.....but I hide it even better than I thought...... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

2: Those flies are evil, really evil. She has a welt with a "hole" in it. Did I mention evil?

3:The shirt was at the first duty free shop on the left as you reach the "end of Canada". There were about 15 more shops right after it, but it was a red building, single story.

4:Actually, it was the fact that it was dark and I didn't know the pothole infested road we were on (or how long and straight it is/was and that monster needs plenty of room. Bring it to Ohio and I promise I'll do better). Oh, and an overwhelming desire to make good on my promise of not offroading in your rocket sled.

And, I just watched the video. Then, I figured out what's wrong with Canada..... You need to get yourself a president. Heck, I'll even offer to donate ours, you can have him to get you started. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rotf.gif)

Also, you have to explain what a poutine and smoke meat is, now. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)
next time, come for a week or so.

Oh, yea. I almost forgot.

Poutine is Canadian "southern cooking". Take french fries, cover them in stuff, add cheese and douse them in BBQ sauce. However the BBQ sauce is more like gravy with a bit of sauce in it. It was really good, but I'm sure I was eating southern cooking. I guess it was southern Canada.

Smoke meat is smoked brisket. Sliced and stacked high, really high, on bread with mustard. It's everywhere, everyone has smoked meat sandwiches, etc. It was good.

I also learned to make candy out of maple syrup and snow (what are two things Canadians have???? (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/2thumbs.gif) ). You boil/heat the syrup, then pour it on a bed of "snow" (snow cone material nicely manacured in a barrel), wait 45 seconds and roll it up on a popcicle stick. Then, you just eat it like a sucker/popcicle. Just remember, once it gets warm, it's syrup again, so don't let it melt or you'll have a sticky mess.
