I finally got my Opti in Monday and installed it.
It was nice to hear it start up again. But it wouldn't idle. So I changed the drivers side plugs. Still wouldn't idle so I kept it running and burnt out some of the old nast gas on the passenger side plugs. Will idle just fine. I just need to change the other side and she'll be running like a champ!! This makes me feel REALLY, REALLY GOOD. Long story short, I've been frustrated lately because my Truck. One busted heater hose fitting (right at the intake no less) and a bad water pump all in one week had me UN happy with my autos. |

QUOTE (mjf454 @ Mar 17 2004, 05:53 PM) Glad to hear it's alive again. On a LT1 is there any way to eliminate the opti and use some other form of ignition? There are a couple differnet options out there now. The LTCC uses the LS1 coils but still uses the Opti's optical pick up as the trigger. That takes the high voltage out of the Opti which is what usually what causes it to fail. DELTQ seems to have a similar solution for their stage1 and then goes to different pick up for their stage 2. |
