I just got off the phone, in response to this email I received:
Hi Chad! Hope things are going well for you. I'm in Georgia/Florida this week and I'm trying to work my way back to Wisconsin at some point. Rick Jensen and I have been discussing your car for a while now and he was wondering if you'd be interested in letting me shoot it for GMHTP this week, if it was available. Give me a call on my cell phone when you get this (leave a message if it doesn't go through). Thanks! Jim McIlvaine XXX-XXX-XXXX I am FIRED UP!! |

QUOTE (Glenn98ZM6 @ Mar 17 2004, 09:39 AM) not sure james. Rick Jensen has been pushing Jim and others on my behalf. the only thing i have heard was that Silver is a bad color for a magazine, it doesnt photo well. i don't belive it for one minute. i have some awsome pics that i tok w/ my digital camera, and i have ZERO trainning in taking pics. anyways, i don't wanna take anything away from this thread and the nice car Nemesis must have. congrats again. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) As the photographer of this group (I'm guessing...I'm as bad about buying and playing with camera gear as I am car stuff and I've got thousands of dollars of it in my bag right now), I have to agree that silver is a bad color. In bright sunlight, it overexposes, in dull sunlight it looks a lifeless grey (I love silver cars, don't misunderstand me). And, you have to deal with reflections and the car picking up the colors of the surroundings. It acts like a mirror and everything shows in the paint. Also, silver 'blends in" dut to the same mirror like properties. However, Glenn, I think your car is outstanding and I like the color. The fact that it has hp and grip would seem to make it a "shoe in" for coverage. If you get to Ohio, I'll shoot if for you (I can get nice 20x30" prints done) and maybe we can send those off to the mag to reconsider. |
