I have 17X10.5 wheels {front and rear} and have ran two sets of Yoko 032s and have been relatively pleased with them. The Yokos have a minimum wheel width of 10.5 inches. I know they would work better on 11s but hey, they did seem to work better than 275s.
It's time to buy tires again and I'm thinking about changing brands and I have a few questions. Keep in mind that I drive to the events on the tires and drive a small amount on the street {less than 10K miles last year}. I try to do a few autoXs {less than 10} a year and I'm going to give open tracking a try this year What does everyone think about using either 315 NittoRIIs or 315 Kumo V700s? I know either tire's minimum width is 11 inches but sometimes things just work out even if the specs don't add up. I think that Kumho has a 305/40/17 or maybe a 295/40/17 {can't remember} size in their V710. They would fit the wheel perfectly but I'm a bit worried about driving the new V710s on the street. I think that they would heat cycle pretty bad. Any advice before I blow near a grand on tires would be greatly appreciated. |

Not sure if you want a race only or a race/stree tire but Kumho has the new 710 in a 295/40-17 and suggests a rim between 10-11.5. It will be a little bit taller than a 275, but not by much.
