I was cleaning up a donor car new to the shop, and there were a few quarters poking out from under the passenger seat mount, so I started tapping it with a hammer, and got a gusher. That doubler was packed full of coin - about $6. The plastic jar was from the rest of the car, all the coins on the pan were stuffed in the seat mount.

I had a friend once who sold a '68 Chevelle, and on his way home from delivering it, found someone cussing at his dead '79 Honda CVCC. So Ken offered him $500 and bought the car. He plugged the ignition coil back in, drove it over to my place, and we cleaned it and waxed it. After tossing out the trash, we dug $12 in change out of the seats and ordered pizzas. A quickie vacuum and shampoo later, and the little car went home where Ken sold it to his neighbor for $1300.
Man, what a day! |
