Well, I know I'm relatively new to the site, and no one really knows me but, I figured you people could respect the new purchase.
I originally bought my 1994 Z28 A4 as an M6 candidate, seeing as A4's are boring for street use (IMO) and lack the control of an M6 at an AX event. So a guy on my local F-Body board posted up a sale thread yesterday with a '94 Z28 M6 for $1000 obo. Naturally I was bewildered. What could be driving the cost down so low? I called him within 5 minutes of him putting it up for sale, he said it's got the intake gasket leak and its so bad that it soaked the clutch (which was just replaced 8 months prior; for the same thing) needs tie rods and wheel bearings. So I asked what the mods are and he tells me its got pace setter coated long tubes, 3" Y, spiral flow muffler to SLP loudmouth, Lakewood poly LCA, Jegster torque arm, SLP fan switch, 160*, PCM for less tune, new rear tires. I say, you really only want $1000? He says, "yeah..." SO... I went and looked at it today, and he showed me the title which reads "rebuild salvage" which is what I was wondering about, not a big deal. Kentucky will title anything with a "rebuild salvage title," but they wont even touch a "salvage title" as it's illegal and not road worthy at that point. The fit/finish lack a bit, but its still a complete car! Hardtop too! I think the color is Monterey Maroon Metalic? I gave him half the money, signed the title, and had him sign a receipt and my buddy signed as a witness... I'm picking the car and title up next Monday and finalizing the sale. So... instead of swapping my A4 to an M6 (was going to buy a complete T56 setup off someone for $1200) I'm now the new owner (almost) of another Z28! Sweet. If it's not straight enough, you can use it as a donor car, if it is, it's a race car/project car.
