Well, I've gotten to that point where I'm not sure where to go with my car. Here's where I am: 2000 T/A, stripped interior w/ cage, full suspension,T2R, 17x11's w/ DOT rubber, intake, exhaust, bolt-ons, lightened somewhat. I don't know if I should go for a cam package (more power), move to 18" wheels so I can get full slicks as takeoffs, get an aluminum flywheel and clutch upgrade, or what. I never really gave too much thought to where I wanted to go once I got here. I'm moving to road race, so that's what I want the car to excel at.
For now, let's assume a budget of $1000 for parts. I'll probably do the work myself. |

All that power from the cam swap won't do you any good if you can't stop. I'm trying to decide how to upgrade my brakes, even though I'd rather have more power as well. My theory is if I can carry what power I have longer, and brake better and in a shorter distance, that's cutting lap time. Not all courses will let you get the most benefit from the HP upgrade, but all courses require brakes. (at least that's my theory)
Would your possible upgrades impact your classification? |
