I'm looking for an aftermarket seat. I can no longer stand the OE seat, especially for road trips. Of prime concern is head room (I'm 6'2") and seat base width. I have sat in Mike Farrell's car and liked his seat (Mike chime in with your brand, I have CRS) but want to know other's setups. Also, costs, ease of installation, etc. Post pictures if you have them! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I should have taken a before and after pic of the bracket. I'm sorry. the bracket has 3 holes in it. if you try to attach the bracket to the slider using the lowest setting/hole, the part of the bracket hits the floor board. so I took out my dremel with reinforced cutting disc, and chopped off the two unused holes. I guess it would make more sense with a picture though. so with the 2 unused holes chopped off, you can now use the lowest hole which lets the seat down into the lowest setting on the bracket without interference with the floorboard.
the seat is actually just as comfortable as stock seats. it really is great. I drove to MIR from NJ and it took 5 hours. I felt great when I arrived. the seat has no comfort issues at all. and the side bolstering in invaluable during race events. I would never go back to stock again. |
