Last night I did some work to my car at my buddy's house in the boondocks of Lafayette, IN. I pulled the stereo out of the dash because my mounting bracket was coming loose, and left it sitting by the passenger footwell. I also pulled the plugs to check on a misfire. I had class the next morning so I decided to just let the car sit and I'd come back the next day. I left the car unlocked so my buddy could roll it out of his driveway if he needed to.
I got a phone call this morning at 8 AM from my buddy. "Somebody broke into 3 of our cars and took our stereos". (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) I haven't been over to inspect the damage, but from talking with my buddy, there was none to my vehicle. It was unlocked, and the stereo was sitting conveniently within arm's reach. It sounds like the amp, speakers, and subwoofer are intact. Well, I should have at least pulled the face plate on the stupid thing. That was a dumb move not to do. But at least I won't have to replace any glass or dash parts. Despite my unprecedented lack of common sense, it looks like things turned out as best as they could for what happened (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) . |
