Hi,
Thought I'd put this here. I put together a trans cooler setup for my Firehawk. I was prompted by my mechanic when he changed the trans oil. He said it looked cooked and very dark. Like any typical burnt ATF. Not good unless you want to rebuild and replace your six speed. Anyone interested in purchasing a setup for trans cooling purposes for about $750? I say about because it depends on the length of the braided steel lines you need. Yeah, its expensive, but the alternative is worse. BTW, the GM corvette setup comes w/a rubber hose. Not a true race worthy setup and its over $800! My kit includes: * 2gpm mount anywhere self priming pump w/ built in bracket; * Trans Oil Cooler--5 3/4" x 11" x 1 1/2" * appropriate AN fittings for the cooler and Trans ports; * Hose w/appropriate end fittings; * In line cleanable filter screen, not included w/ the GM setup. Let me know of interest. Here's the GM parts direct listing for the Corvette cooler, just insert PN: 12480080 to get the part description. http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results.cfm Steve |
