My -98 Camaro desperately needs new wheels. Width 9-11" Must fit 4th gen without spacers of any kind.
International shipping required(europe), so the lighter the rims, the better, so I can save on shipping. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) This post has been edited by PSN: Aug 16 2007, 12:17 PM |

There is no economical 17x11 rim that will fit a Camaro (smaller fenders than a Firebird) without spacers. Even if you order a custom set with the right offset for somewhere over $2000 USD, you will probably still need to use spacers at the front and/or rear to fine tune the fit.

So the width, I'm looking for is 9" (or 10"?) |

If you're looking for inexpensive, you can also look for the C4 corvette sawblades. 17x9.5 and don't require spacers. They aren't pretty, but they're fairly light and should be not so bad to find. I just won't give mine up... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

The 50mm ZR1 17x11 is what I have. I'm running 5/16" spacers, and still had trim away part of the bumpstop bracket. That's with a very carefully adjusted double rod-end PHB too. My fenders are also rolled and very subtly flared. This post has been edited by sgarnett: Jul 28 2007, 12:58 AM |

I really don't care about the looks. Weight is more important. Ugly Vette wheels will do just fine. Maybe I should also accept wheels, that require spacers. But only if the appropriate spacers are included with the wheels.

But only if the appropriate spacers are included with the wheels. 17x11 ZR1 replicas are very heavy, around 25~26 lbs each, but they are strong. They are a cheap way to run 315 race tires. Personally, I wouldn't (and don't) use them on the street, but some people do. |

315s in all corners would be nice, but I don't want any heavy replicas.

315s in all corners would be nice, but I don't want any heavy replicas. Well, a set of lightweight 17x11 rims is going to cost 5~10X as much as a used set of stock 17x9 SS/WS6 rims. A new set of lightweight CCW or Forgeline 17x11 rims goes for around $2200~$2500 USD. If there's a reasonably-priced used set around, I'd like to know about it myself (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) This post has been edited by sgarnett: Jul 28 2007, 02:09 PM |

About the same weight as my stock 16" z28 wheels? If I didn't have so much other stuff to buy, I'd get me some CCWs immediately. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Yes, the stock 17x9 is relatively light.

What are you going to be doing with these wheels? For daily driving, the 17x9 SS wheels work excellently. You can easily fit 275s on them and you avoid the BFH method of rear tire fitment and you won't need spacers. For racing, definately go with 11" wide wheels w/ 315s and coerce your 4th gen into making them fit

Got 'em!
17x9 10 spoke SS wheels from Virginia! All I have to do now is wait them to be shipped and get me some rubber. After that I'm ready to go to the track. Well, after the A4->M6 conversion that is.. |
