That about says it. I need (4) 17x11 wheels prefferably with a 36mm offset but since I am buying wheel adapters so I can mount them on a 3rd gen anyway almost any offset will work. If someone has 17x10 I would consider those as well. I live in the Buffalo New York area so unless rushman is selling me his you will need to be willing to ship them.

I do, might even do some kind of a trade if you have 17x9.5.

I don't have any 17x9.5 wheels to trade but this may work. Are the tires still in the same condition as when they were photographed 8 months ago?

Yes, I haven't had my car since last Dec! I will take $800 + shipping for them.

If I start running equal sized wheels and tires I will start running out of excuses for why you and Dave are kicking my ass.

lets get shipping costs figured out. Do you take paypal? What brand are the wheels, and how much do they weight?

If you can ship via yellow freight or some other LTL carrier that would probably be best. I can receive them at a business address that has a fork lift for unloading.

The rears will tuck in ok and I figure the fronts will stick out around an inch. I don't think it will cost me too many extra cones when compared to how much faster I will be able to go.

Have you test fit 11s up front on a 3rd gen? I run 315/40/17 on 17x11 on the rear and 295/40/17 on 17x9.5 on the front and the fronts barely fit, even when the car has been lowered 1.75". You may get by if you are running CP and can cut the fenderwells a bit (or buy GT1 fiberglass fenderwell kits). I know the Mustangs run 15" wide rims in the DC region (after cutting out about 5" of fenderwell w/ a sawsall). They only stick out about 6" beyond the fenderwells making them great for straightaways, but lousy for slaloms.

Hope they work, but you will probably have serious oversteer problem with this setup. 17x11s work great on 4th gens, but 3rd gens have much more oversteer naturally than 4th gen cars and will probably have too much with the 315s all around. My 91 1LE is perfect with 275 or 295s up front and 315s in the rear. The 315s definitely hook up better off the corners.

I would recommend getting a set of 9.5/11s instead. I recently purchased a nice set of black Grand Sport knock offs from OE Wheels in Florida for under $550 shipped. You can find them on EBay. The only problem is that you can't rotate the tires.

91 1LE Camaro, L98 vette block, LT4 hotcam, roller rockers, Stealthram intake, alum. heads, AS&M 58 mm throttle body, headers, custom tune, 900/250 springs, Koni SAs, 36/25 bars, Torsen T2R w/ chromoly axles, custom T5 tranny w/ forged gears, etc...

99 Camaro SS, LS1 w/ Predator tuning, SLP airbox, Koni DAs, Strano 35/22 bars, Strano 550/180 springs, UMI torque arm, 1LE bushings, UMI subframe on order.

I appreciate your feedback on this.

I am not sure what you mean here? Why would the larger wheels fit better after the car is lowered 1.75"? Do you mean because of the increased negative camber? If so I have camber plates that allow me to have the struts up against the holes in the strut towers.

How are you liking the 295's on the 9.5 wheels? I hear alot about how we shouldn't do it but I hear little from anyone that has actually tried it.

Ken,

If you have the wheel adapters, feel free to stop by and toss the 315's on your car if you want to get an idea of clearance.

I will take you up on that offer. I am going to order a set of 2 inch adapters today so maybe next week we can try them on. I am sure that I will be going this route it is just a question of how much they stick out.

In reply to your question, "I am not sure what you mean here? Why would the larger wheels fit better after the car is lowered 1.75"? It is because of the shape of the wheelwell. The lower sides near the lower facia curve inwards towards the tire. At mid-to-full suspension movement and stock ride height the lower facia rubs bad on oversize tires. When you lower the car, the tire sits higher in the fenderwell and at normal travel during cornering the middle of the tire sits above the lower facia and thus has more tire clearance. The extra camber helps a little, but not much.

I also love the 295s Hoosiers on 9.5 rims on my 3rd gen. They fit nice, have less weight and have more tire contact than the 275s. There is more than enough front steering. I can go from neutral to oversteer just by throttle modulation and do not lose steering angle as with 315s (i.e., 315s will not get full lock-to-lock on the car without binding somewhere on the frame or fenderwells without substantial fender mods). I do not think Kumho V710s will fit though. The sidewall construction is much different on the Kumho's resulting in about 1" of extra width at the bead (Hoosiers have a nice inset bead that allows for wide effective sidewalls and tread patch with a narrower bead width).
