Heading home on the 101 freeway tonight, traffic came to a stop, I came to a stop, the car behind me didn't come to a stop. She tried to swerve into the center lane to miss me but ended up clipping the left rear corner of my GTO. Nothing looks bent, but the bumper fascia, tailight fascia and left rear quarter panel all have extensive paint damage. Her Camry is missing a headlight and turn signal assembly.

DPS officer showed up at the scene, I handed him my registration, proof of insurance, and conceal carry permit. He looked at my permit, looked at me and I told him it was in the center console of my car. He asked if it was loaded, I told him yes. He asked if I planned to shoot him and I said no.

He took a few minutes to write up the paperwork. He came back to my car first, handed me my license and paperwork along with a copy of the report and told me I was free to go. Then said he was going to go write the young lady a ticket because she couldn't shoot him.

Perfect way to start the Thanksgiving holiday...

The officer was making a joke. The girl who hit me wasn't armed, so the officer could write her a ticket with no fear of reprisal if she got upset about it.

Sorry ... it was late.

So the damage was mostly cosmetic? Or is the quarter mashed in?

Don't let it get out that a DPS officer has a sense of humor.

The quarter panel appears to be straight. She managed to clip me in the spot where the quarter panel, rear bumper cover and tail light valence come together and all 3 parts have extensive paint damage.
