I'm turning my accessories too fast. Can I get a BBK/ASP/March P/N that works on a ZZ4 SBC (96, 1 pc RMS, long water pump). I've searched all of these brands and I can't be sure what will work correctly. A 25% smaller dia. than stock will work, but I can't determine which one has the correct number of grooves and spacing. It would help if they published those kind of specs! I can't tell if the LT1 will work, or the 88-92 F-body, or why they're different. I don't have the exact answers for you, but I do know the LT1 application is definitely wrong. The LT1 damper is very different than a typical SBC, and won't work in this application.

Or any of the other similar ones. I think I'm running a set from either Mr. Gasket or March. I forget, but they all work about the same. Or, call ASP and they will build you about anything you need. |

Thanks Mohave, that helps a bunch. Now at least I can keep the search to the Gen1 SBC stuff.

Thanks Kevin, I did see that BBK sells sets, but I don't think I can get a bigger pulley on my PS pump, so I'm not inclined to buy the whole set since I can't use that pulley anyway. PS I'm finally putting some money into an envelope for you as I type this! |

PS I'm finally putting some money into an envelope for you as I type this! I have a two piece set. They are doing 3 because they are shiny aluminum (pretty) and match. You don't need that set, or to change the PS pulley. Try this: http://www.aspracing.com/gm.htm#camaro Mr Gaskets site is down (well, you can't seem to go anywhere right now), but I think mine came from them. It was a two piece kit in a box, but it's been a long time since they were purchased. Edit: March 655-4000 (jegs number, march number is just 4000) http://www.jegs.com/p/March+Performance/748685/10002/-1 These are all for the factory serpentine setup. (which I just realized you probably don't have). March does one for an early 3rd gen too (655-4020). Sorry, I caught 88-92 in your post and thought you had the later serpentine setup. You'll need that 655-4020 for an earlier setup. It's on the same page as the link I just posted. |

It won't hurt to turn the alternator even slower so the two piece set is what I'll do. I just placed my order with ASP. Thanks for sorting that out for me Trackbird! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

No problem. Just as long as you ordered to match the correct years accessories, you're in good shape.
I used to spend all day looking up parts for a living, I'm a bit rusty, but it's nice to try to remember how I used to do it. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Check the instructions, most of your belt sizes will change (shorter), at least in most cases they do. I also wrote the belt number (or numbers) under the hood somewhere in sharpie/paint marker (parts stores can't look it up by the year and model anymore). If you lose the belt out on the track, you will not have the part number from the old belt. That makes it a real pain to try to locate the right belt (ask Glenn about the 2007 NASA nationals, we bought every belt in town). Just a handy tip. |

With a P/N printed on it! Thanks again, and I did manage to clear my debt to you by the end of the year! Check your mail in a few days. |

No problem on the check (it really was no rush at all) and glad to help out on the pulleys.
