Sweet! That Tii that BMW rolled out as a design concept is totally tempting. Not to say that a 1 series straight up isn't in the cards for me, but an "M" version, whatever that looks like, would be sweet. I think the cars are fairly equivalent in power and weight to my E36 M3. I'd love to drive one and see how it stacks up. From what I've heard they are great drivers. So, congratulations.

As a BMW fanboi (find me on more than a few forums as BMWnut), the looks haven't quite hit me yet. I'm always slow to adapt to new car looks. I was pissed about the looks of the 7 series after the E23. I still love the E23, but I've come to respect all the 7 that have come along since. Same goes for the other models. So I think the 1 will grow on me.

I'd love to hear your driving impressions of the car.
