On my home from work, I saw three new Camaros headed westbound on I-90. All with in a 10 Min time frame. It was about 20 minutes to 2 PM (early out day today, YEAH!)
The first one and third one were red and being driven. The second one was being trailered and still had the protector vinyl on it.
The looks of the new Camaro have grown on me, but the over 3800 lbs. curb weight and the $ 36,000 (ish) price tag for a V-8 model will keep me away.
I would rather get a Corvette with my Option 1 discount. I can't afford that either, but if I could.....

And I have been kicking myself for selling my 84 Z-28 Camaro. But I had to pay the Doctors.

Just to update you all, I had my Gall Bladder removed six weeks ago, and I got a promotion and a raise at work.
My two youngest sons have earned straight A's for the 3 rd Quarter in school and are maintaining that grade level with the 4 weeks to go for them.

I have no project car at this time. I am looking. But I am not finding what I am looking for.

So I just been zipping around in my Saturn SC2 for now.
God! Does it get great gas milage!

I've heard that dealers are slapping markups on the car(s) in inventory, but they'll order one for MSRP. The reason is that the Camaro in inventory generates foot traffic and probably sells other cars. I can't blame them. Also, when you have $10K profit possibilities for people like Stan's buddy, it's hard to expect the dealers to not play the same game.

my local dealer has one for test drives, I got to drive it over the weekend. It was a base v6 model. I was not overly impressed with the 300hp, didn't seem like it had that much to me. There was a awefull throttle lag from the pedal to the throttle body, transmission downshift and upshift seemed to lag as well. Maybe it's just me not being used to an automatic, but that's my opinion. Handling wise, the car sticks pretty good, I threw it into some high speed turns and I couldn't get the rear to break loose, and there wasn't much push to it either despite it's size. I hated the twin gauges on the dash, They were blocked by the steering wheel, and I had a hard time seeing the speedo. Now if I can only get them to let me take the awesome blue ZR1 they have out for a "test" Sticker $118K, not gonna happen.

The local dealer in my town had an orange SS w/auto. Why? (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/banghead.gif) I guess it was the only one they had and they placed it out front to attract people. I liked it....but I couldn't find the battery and the tach and speedo gauges look "trick" but seem tiny and really hard to read...hmm. I'll have to drive one.. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) I do sorta like the other gauges being in front of the shifter. Its a neat touch, I guess.

Saw one in my driveway, and then garage, yesterday. Imperial Blue Metallic 2SS/RS manual, no sunroof.

Definitely a "show, shine and cruise" car. I doubt many will make to the transition to RRAX duty. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

I just flew into Ontario California yesterday and noticed that Avis has them for rent, so if you want to see how it autocrosses.... :-)
