Current situation forcing sale. This car is the fastest "door-slammer" (formerly street legal) to have EVER turned a lap at No Problem Raceway (1:19.048). The car also won the Grand Bayou Race Series state championship for the 2008-2009 series. During a recent Viper Racing League outing, she was as fast or faster than all but 3 of the Vipers racing. I've owned this car from a 100% stock car and built it to what it is today. Her nickname is "The Red Rhino".
Modifications listed below. New clutch and drivetrain mods (denoted with "new" after each part). I know I'm missing some stuff. DRIVETRAIN - LS1 motor, fresh partial-rebuild w/ 0 miles, including: o TR 230/224 .575/.563 111LSA "Reverse Split" camshaft (new) o LS7 lifters (new) o Comp Cams "925" double valve springs (new design, better resistance to fatigue from high RPMs) (new) o Comp Cams tooled steel spring retainers (will not fatigue like titanium, almost as light) (new) o Comp Cams 5/16" pushrods (new) o New valve seals (new) o Stock rocker arms w/ Comp Cams trunion bearings o Refreshed "241" heads o Manley double-roller timing chain (new) o LS2 lifter trays (new) o 3-layer metal head gaskets (new) o ARP Pro-Series "Cracked Rod" rod bolts (new) o New front and rear main seals, plus all gaskets (new) - Lightweight clutch and flywheel (stock unit = 49.8lbs; this unit weighs 19.8lbs, and is smaller in diameter) o 7.25" 3-disc Quarter Master Optimum-V clutch (new disc thickness = .104"; all 3 discs measure at .103") o 7.25" button flywheel bolted to stock flexplate (new) o ARP fasteners (new) o Quartermaster 4.5"/5.5" floating-style hydraulic throwout bearing o Steel braided lines, with accessible bleeder valve (new) o McLeod adjustable master cylinder - Racetronix fuel pump and wiring harness (new) - Whisper filter lid - Ported/polished throttle body (new) - LS6 intake manifold - Hooker 1.75" LT headers - Freshly rebuilt transmission with 6 races o Steel 3-4 shift fork w/ bronze fork pads o New 1-2, 3-4 carbon-kevlar synchronizers o New rings, spacers, washers, gaskets etc. - Torsen T2R LSD (one of the "good" ones, before all the problems) SUSPENSION - Front o Spohn front upper a-arms, fully adjustable w/ ¾" rod ends (new) o Custom, adjustable lower arms (stock arms, with ends cut off and ¾" rod ends inside chromoly tubing) (new) o Moog ball joints, upper and lower (new) o 35mm hollow front swaybar o 700lb springs o Koni single-adjustable shocks, with coilover sleeves - Rear o Custom, adjustable, aluminum lower control arms w/ ¾" rod ends o 275lb springs w/ adjustable perches o Afco split-rate shocks o Adjustable panhard rod o Unbalanced Engineering de-coupled torque arm o Hellwig adjustable ¾" swaybar BRAKES - Baer GT-Plus calipers (front) - Baer 2-piece rotors, non-slotted/drilled (front) o With Carbotech XP-12 pads front, AX6 pads rear, and Wilwood 570 fluid, I've never experienced fade or overheating WHEELS - 17x11 ZR-1 replicas w/ corded Yokohama slicks - 18x10.5 C6 replicas w/ corded Goodyear slicks MISC - Full SCCA/NASA-legal cage - Adjustable APR wing (300lbs downforce @ 100mph) - Car lightened to less than 3000lbs including gas (great weight distribution and cross-weights) - Momo FIA-approved seat w/ 5-point cam-lock harness - Oil pressure, oil temp, water temp gauges w/ warning lights - Large programmable tach w/ shift light - Camera mount welded to roll cage - Quick-release steering wheel - Firebottle fire suppression system for driver and engine - Lightweight battery w/ kill switch accessible by both the driver and workers at passenger window - Covered all holes in front bumper for aero This car is as fast as almost any door-slammer out there, but it can be so much faster. The car will be ready-to-race with just a fresh set of tires. I will deliver within a 2-hour trip of southeast Louisiana. A passenger seat is also available and can be installed in under 5 minutes. What is does the motor dyno and what is the weight of the car?

Dyno numbers should come within the next few days. It's at that shop right now. With only the filter lid and an exhaust cutout, it made the following dyno graph.

This cam was chosen because it makes good torque at 3500rpm, and continues to make power up to 7000. Dyno graph of a car exactly like mine is below, except mine should be higher, given a higher starting point. (IMG:http://www.thunderracing.com/images/dynos/thunder230_224a.jpg) Weight is just under 3000. Weighed it 2 years ago, and not much has changed (lighter, if anything). Still stock glass, body panels, etc. If that weight information is a deal maker/breaker, I can get it on some scales for you. Oh, I also forgot to mention the cooling mods. We added larger coolant return lines to the top of the heads. We found that the rear cylinders were running hotter than the rest. So, we fitted some AN fittings where the stock coolant lines come out, and routed them back up front. Instead of a littell dribble coming into the radiator from those lines, it's a strong stream. Saw another race motor that this was done to. Cylinders were all the same looking. All the recent mods (except the camshaft) were done to enhance longevity. Less rotating mass, stronger internal parts, better valvetrain, etc. |

Thanks. A few nibbles so far, but nothing really. I know the price is up there, but this is the average price of cars with the same lap times. I simply found otehr cars that are for sale, compared lap times, then averaged the price of those cars that were within 1 second of me.
As with all race car sales, I'm losing tens of thousands. |

Thanks - so far I've gotten absolutely ZERO nibbles. I'm exploring other avenues of raising revenue. I've got half my garage full of extra junk to be Ebay'd. Who knew that I had 5 old A/V receivers sitting around the house that I didn't use?

I'm trying, Julie. So far, I'm about halfway there between Ebay and returning crap to race stores that I bought for the summer buildup and didn't use (fluid plumbing parts, suspension parts, etc.).
