For the first time, I'm seriously considering selling the Z28. I'm renting a late-model V6 Mustang ragtop right now, and it feels pretty good. Ergonomics aren't the best for me, rear seat is even less usable than the 4th Gen F-body. I would never get a ragtop though, do want to get into a big monthly payment.

I've thought about trying to locate a sub-$20K C5 Z06 and just move this LS3 motor into it and sell my car with the LS1. I like the Z06 just because of the immediate 500lb weight savings. I'd have other costs I'm sure... different headers, might need different race wheels/tires due to brake interference, etc. I'd have to get a hitch & trailer to haul the tires to events. Not sure what other incidentals are compatible/desirable to move over.

Thoughts?

it depends on how much of a beating you want to take financially to upgrade to a 'vette. On the forums here and nearly everywhere else, guys can't give stuff away. If you find a deal on a 'vette and and don't mind getting hosed on your Camaro I'd say go for it. Just be aware of what modded f-bodies are going for right now...

3rd/4th gen F-bodies in general aren't going for crap right now. Even the collectible ones aren't selling. I've got my LT4 Hawk listed for $13,900 and I have had one serious inquiry. On the up side, you can find great deals on other cars right now, especially Vettes.

The market is tough right now. I'd like to sell mine, then maybe pick up an Elise, but everyone I talk to says selling is tough....especially non-streetable cars.

I considered selling both my cars and buying either a C5 Z06 or 11 Mustang GT, but talked myself out of it. For now.

I figured the only way I'd even get close to a reasonable sale would be to attempt to sell it to someone else who enjoys the same endeavors. Streetable is also such a subjective word.
