I can't wear Simpson or Impact racing helmets. Their "X-Large" almost won't go over my head. I'm wearing a Bell Racestar III (I think it's a size 7 7/8, but I'm not exactly sure). It fits pretty well, but it's about the only helmet I've found that did. I've looked at another Bell in an XL and it fit great (now if I could only remember what it was).

Oops, meant their XXL. The largest helmet simpson and/or impact make will NOT fit my melon.

Every helmet company makes their brand for one head shape in particular. I'd just try the next brand.

D'oh! I wish this post would've been yesterday. I wear a Bell K1 Sport in XL but it's almost out of date (SA2000) and www.pitstopusa.com is having a sale on helmets (10% off Simpson) and I just ordered an Simpson Bandit in XL last night. Hopefully, I don't have to return it.
The K1 has always been tight at the top of my head, but I really needed a helmet for my first HPDE when I bought it and just dealt with it being tight for the last 5 years. At least now I've got time. |

I think it was the Bell M4 (not the open face mag 4, but I think it's called the M4) in XXL that really fit me well.

I'm not saying anything. Should be fitting a helmet next week and am being told either L or XL. Seems that the M4 fits "fat heads"

I have to wear an XXXL in HJC, and their XXXL isn't Snell rated (though the S-XXL in the same helmet is Snell rated). I've looked for something similar in an XXXL that is Snell rated, but I never found anything that was reasonably priced.

I had a Simpson K-10 XXL Overnighted to the hotel, is too big. So all you waterhead guys, this is the lid..The Simpson K-10.
I kept the HJC AR10 II XXL, the more I wore it the better it felt. Its snug but it needs to be that way. Feels alot better now. The Simpson K-10 is $299.99 from Saferacer, Those guys have jumped through hoops to try and get me a lid. This post has been edited by FASTFATBOY: Mar 28 2011, 03:58 AM |
