Used to be able to get them from www.cmcparts.com but none of the links on the site seem to work anymore...not sure if that's temporary or permanent. Lots of guys just get a local machine shop to make them. Alan Blaine could probably whip some up for you pretty easy if you don't have the means locally.

Thanks Casey - Ya, cmcparts had a good deal on a package, I think he made them in batches on a CNC machine. If he is no longer making them I could. I make them by hand with a band saw, drill press and hole saws and a drum sander.
So what sizes are folks using for a 260rwhp LT1 nowdays? The last plates I made were for 230hp. |

My SWAG to recoup the setup and hourly fee for laser/WJ time I'd need to sell 30 or so multi-plate sets. I don't see more than a handful of new LT1 CMC builds happening this year, fewer next. I would probably rough cut a bunch them, stack em, bolt them together, do the exterior shape and drilling in a block, so not as time consuming as one at a time. Maybe, instead, I should make a restrictor that clamps in upstream of the TB or MAF, something more universal that could be used on LS/LS/TPI motors... There's been some discussion that this could result in better throttle response. |
